I-
Presentation
FBC is a
lay private school. It offers General and Technical Bilingual Education. It is
a day and boarding school (boys and girls). It is nested between two superb mountains,
Manengouba and Nlonako in splendid scenery in Quarter Five Mbaressoumtou –
Rail, at about 400 m away from GBHS (Lycée Bilingue) Nkongsamba and at about
500m from the Douala-Bafoussam main road as sketched out below.
II- AIMS

Train all youths without any social or religious distinction;
- Provide a sound and wholesome education;
- Mould the whole man: body, character, mind and spirit;
- Offer a practical and multi-purpose training that will enable learners
to be fully integrated in the society in the future;

A- THE
SETTING
FBC is
located in an attractive environment, far from the turbulent Nkongsamba urban
centre, though the latter is within easy reach.
The
friendliness of this charming valley is suitably inviting for concentration and
a conducive setting for maximum academic performances and challenging
achievements.
A- INFRASTRUCTURES AND
EQUIPMENT

boarding section

science laboratory
FBC has a
science laboratory with microscopes, samples, chemical products, test tubes etc
which make the teaching of science subjects practical

B- BILINGUALISM IS A
REALITY
Special
emphasis is laid on bilingualism.
1- In the
English-speaking section, there are also intensive French lessons in F1 and F2
2- In the French-speaking
section, there are intensive English lessons in 6e and 5e;
3- In f3 and f4, there
are bilingual classes for the best students with the possibility for
· an English-speaking student to have the ‘’BEPC’’ (French certificate) in
form 4
· a French-speaking student to obtain the GCO ‘’O’’ level in 2nde (F5)
C- Quality teaching
- a duty conscious staff to train your children
- the teaching staff is well qualified and constantly under training for
more effective teaching;
- to the classical subjects in the curriculum, we add socio-educational
and complementary activities such as clubs, open door activities round tables,
conferences and debates, sports activities, etc;
- we do not admit more than 60 (sixty) students per class for more
effective teaching
D- Discipline
- discipline is one of our main priorities;
- wardens are convinced that true discipline is carried out in love;
we are aware of the fact that hardwork can only
yield success when discipline is effectively applied.

IV-
ADMISSION
-
It is mainly by entrance examination;
- Exceptionally, students that are far from Nkongsamba can be admitted
through case study;
-
When deemed necessary, a student might be required to sign an
undertaking with the school before admission.

UNIFORMS
All
uniforms are obtainable from the school and they are the following:

girls: 1 pair of shorts, 1 T-Shirt
Each
student must bring a pair of tennis shoes.
D-
Dormitory wear for boarders (compulsory)

jackets. Boys should bring 2 brown trousers

dresses
N.B: Day
students must have black shoes.

VII-
BOARDING EQUIPMENT
The
following items are required from boarders;
A-
Dormitory
1) Boys: 2
pairs of black of pyjamas
2) Girls: 2
pairs of black shoes with low heels, 1 pair of sports shoes, 1 night dress, 1 “cyclist”
or more.
3) Boys:
a- Bedding:
1 warm blanket, 2 white bed sheets, and 1 pillow, 2 white pillow cases, 1
matters preferably covered (190 cm x 80 );
b- Toilet
items: 2 bars of bathing soap, 1 big toothpaste, 1 tooth brush, 1 soap dish, 1
face towel, 1 medium size towel, 1 toilet bag or small bucket, rubbing oil, 1
comb, pegs, 2 hangers, 2 bars of laundry soap, 1 laundry brush, 1 pair of
bathing slippers, toilet tissue.
c- Others:
2 white necklace T-shirts, 1 bucket, 1 raincoat/umbrella, 1 torch.
Also,
parents should provide for their children a bag and o locker (80 cm x 50 x 3)

B- Dining
hall
1 unbreakable
plate, 1 small dish with a cover, a plastic tea cup, cutlery (spoon, fork,
table Knife, water, bottle), 1 pair of sandals
C- Work
Attire
a) boys : 1
lance/cutlass, 1 large bundle of broom
b) girls: 1
hoe/lance, 1 large bundle of broom
D- Miscellaneous
(for boarders)

provide children with pocket money;
-
parents are responsible for their children’s medical bills
-
FBC has an infirmary with a medical doctor and nurses who can be
consulted by students and staff on campus as need arises;
-
Parents are requested to keep their children’s clothes at home;
-
Boarders have their Sunday church meetings in the campus. They are
carried out in order and mutual consideration.
Parents or
guardians and all boarders must read and sign the boarding Regulations on
admission.
VIII-
General information
-
Parents are responsible for all damages to school and others’ property
caused by their children;
-
They can create a P.T.A (Parents and Teaches Association) which they
manage.
As a final provision, all parents and students
must sign the school Internal Regulations on admission, committing themselves
to fully cooperate with the school administration to ensure order and
discipline in the school premises. |
